Check us out regularly as we write and post articles aimed at bridging the gap between Science and Somatics. Many articles include an addendum that highlights the benefits of the Feldenkrais Method and/or Bones for Life for the topic matter at hand.
Vol 1. Issue 14 Total Joint Replacement by Carol A. Montgomery. If you work with individuals with Total Hip Replacement, in particular, this is a great reference.

Freedom: a podcast with Russell Delman
0 Comments Published by Cynthia August 3rd, 2007 in Feldenkrais Method, Consciousness, Meditation, Learning, Podcast.with Cynthia Allen
This is a great interview! We have had a lot of interest in Russell’s upcoming workshop on Skeletal Neutrality and Organismic Freedom from the public at large. This nudged me to ask him to talk about Freedom.

In this interview, he talks about freedom from the points of view of Moshe Feldenkrais and Buddha. I brought up the topic of Christianity and if his work is compatitble. And…pause…I also brought up the initial confusion between the words “orgasmic” and “organismic,” which a number of people have mentioned experiencing, when reading the title of the workshop. Russell gives us a nice understanding of the connection.
You can read Russell’s bio at our prior podcast. Or you can see more about Russell at www.RussellDelman.com You can register for our workshops at www.ilcma.com
Last but not least, you can tune in and listen.

There in the shadow of a mountain, Continue reading ‘August Newsletter’

One of the most interesting, and exciting, recent events in my life was the birth of quadruplets to my nephew & his wife.
What a learning opportunity for me! While I already had a great nephew and 5 great nieces, I had not been able to experience all of the babies together nor can I easily remember the various developmental stages.
The quadruplets, 2 boys and 2 girls, were all over 3 pounds in weight and 15 inches in length at birth. I was present at the last sonogram before delivery and managed to see heads and arms tucked into the womb. Because of a trip to Costa Rica, followed by a cold, I was delayed in seeing them after birth. They were in their incubators before graduating to the same crib, lined up side-by-side by birth order.
Each begins tightly wrapped in a blanket Continue reading ‘June Newsletter’
